On July 20, a delegation led by Mr. Zhou Yiping, President of the Portugal-China Small and Medium Enterprises Chamber of Commerce, paid an official visit to the Huizhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Zeng Zhiqian, Chairman of the Federation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Portugal economic and trade cooperation, promoting traditional Chinese culture, and advancing the development of overseas Chinese language education.
Chairman Zeng Zhiqian welcomed Mr. Zhou and his delegation, noting that Huizhou, as a key city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, boasts two trillion-yuan industrial clusters in electronic information and petrochemical new materials. The city is also gaining a competitive edge in emerging industries such as new energy vehicles and biopharmaceuticals. With its continuously improving business environment, Huizhou presents an ideal destination for overseas investment and entrepreneurship. The Federation is committed to building bridges to help overseas Chinese preserve their cultural heritage, promote innovation in Chinese language education, and deepen China-Portugal economic and cultural exchanges.
Mr. Zhou Yiping introduced the role of the Portuguese Chinese community and the Chamber in facilitating business cooperation between Chinese and Portuguese enterprises and serving overseas Chinese. He expressed a strong willingness to enhance collaboration with the Huizhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and to foster cooperation in trade, culture, and education between the two regions.
